What is GP Connect?

GP Connect is a national NHS digital service that enables authorised health and social care organisations to securely access GP records, appointments, and prescribing information. It allows providers to retrieve real-time patient data, enhancing clinical decision-making and reducing administrative workloads.

Eligibility Criteria for GP Connect

To enable GP Connect within your organisation via Careberry, you must meet the following criteria

Your organisation must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Organisation Data Service Registration

Each site within your organisation must be registered with the Organisation Data Service (ODS).

You must review and sign the National Data Sharing Agreement for GP Connect to ensure responsible and legal data handling practices.

  • Your organisation must be fully registered with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.

  • You must achieve and maintain a current status rating of "standards met".

  • You must commit to maintaining annual compliance.

  • You will need to provide the name and email address of the Registered Manager.

  • The Registered Manager will be contacted to provide a list of any clinical or nominated non-clinical staff that require access to GP Connect.
